MISSION STATEMENT

The American Turners are a national organization originated in 1848 in Cincinnati by German immigrants. Our motto "A sound mind in a sound body" explains the purpose of the American Turners. We are a family organization, encouraging people of all ages to be active.

Our 60 Societies located throughout the United States participate in athletic and cultural activities. Many have gymnasiums and teach gymnastics and other sports to people of all ages. We have yearly National competitions in gymnastics, golf, bowling, softball and volleyball. In addition, there are regional events in other sports.

At the Aurora Turner society we promote mens softball, co-ed sand volleyball, basketball, bowling, and we and teach children of all ages gymnastics, basketball, soccer, volleyball, flag football and baseball clinics. We are currently the largest Turner society in the U.S.A. We are a non profit organization.

We would not be where we are today without the many volunteers that donated their time and talent to Aurora Turners.
